Horizontally printed rods for ANOTHER Vise
pinshape
The vertically printed rods can be a major issue if the layers are poorly printed, leading to breakage due to excessive torsion from friction on the threaded gears. Overhanging threads can also cause problems. This design is an adaptation of my "OTHER Machine Vise" sliding jaw. The threaded rods are split in two and have a larger pitch, allowing them to be printed horizontally without any support material. The two halves are securely fastened into the sliding jaw block with screws. In some cases, additional glue may be necessary.
