This horizontal spool holder fits my UltiMachine 5lb spool with a 39mm diameter hole. The OpenSCAD file is parametric for easy adaptation to different spool types. However, the provided STL file may be unnecessarily large due to a high accuracy parameter. Reduce $fn to 60 for a smaller STL file. The base features hollow hemispheres that can hold sticky materials like rubber or sticky-tac to prevent spool wandering and gives it a cool moon base look. Lubrication may not be necessary, depending on the spool and printer plastic types (PLA in this case).
