Horizontal Spool holder
thingiverse
I recently acquired an original Prusa Printer equipped with a multi-material upgrade, and when I built my enclosure, I created a shelf beneath the printer specifically for storing filament. Plastic spools can be quite heavy, especially when you're dealing with four of them at once, which is why I also wanted to minimize the vibration noise that this printer tends to make. To accommodate all four spools on the shelf, the holder needed to be flat and sturdy, so I initially attempted to use BBs as a makeshift ball-bearing solution by sandwiching them together, but unfortunately, this approach was far too loud for my liking. Undeterred, I decided to design a custom spool holder inspired by a top toy.
