Another game-changer for the world of 3D printing enthusiasts: A horizontal spool holder that tames gravity with ease. Designed specifically for the popular UltiMachine, it accommodates spools weighing up to 5lb and boasting a diameter hole of 39mm (1.5 inches). The OpenSCAD file is a masterpiece of flexibility, offering endless customization possibilities should you need to adapt it for different types of spools. A clever touch: The STL file size is unnecessarily bloated due to my own careless mistake when setting the OpenSCAD accuracy parameter ($fn) far too high. You can effortlessly rectify this by re-rendering with $fn = 60, resulting in a significantly smaller STL file that won't overwhelm your storage. To ensure a smooth printing experience, consider installing some rubber or sticky-tac within the hollow hemispheres on the base – a genius touch that not only prevents the spool from drifting off course but also adds an otherworldly allure reminiscent of a lunar colony. Printing note: No special lubrication is required; however, the actual outcome might depend on various factors, including the type of plastic used for both the spool and the printer itself (PLA in my case).
