Horizontal Rail Deck Supports

Horizontal Rail Deck Supports

thingiverse

I recently came across some guard rails at my local store priced around $8 each, which left me feeling less than thrilled. This led me and my son to collaborate on designing something that would become a memorable father-son bonding experience. He picked up valuable skills in Fusion360 while learning how to fix our deck's rails. To create a sturdy support system for your deck's guard rail or prevent existing rails from slipping, I recommend using the highest infill setting possible. My 3D print was made with Inland Black PLA, 1.75mm filament at 210C, and a 60-degree heated bed. There are two versions: one is designed for new installations with a back panel, while the other is intended as a repair job for existing rails without a back panel.
