Horizontal Expansion Template
thingiverse
The holes in my prints were consistently coming out too small. After researching this a bit, I learned about the Horizontal Expansion and Hole Horizontal Expansion settings in Cura, so I made this template to test it out and am sharing in case anyone finds it useful.Note: If you don't see those settings in the Walls section in Cura, go to View->Configure setting visibility to enable thoseFirst, print using your normal settings and measure the dimensions - it should be 90mm x 32mm. If it's off, adjust the Horizontal Expansion accordingly (a positive value if too small, negative if too large) by the number of millimeters of difference. So, if your measurement is 88.6mm, the Horizontal Expansion would be 0.4. Do this first since this setting can have an impact on the hole size. Once that is complete, measure the inside of the holes using a caliper and adjust the Hole Horizontal Expansion by half of the difference (a positive value if too small, negative if too large). For example, if the 20mm hole is 19.5mm then the radius is 0.5mm too small, so make your Hold Horizontal Expansion 0.25 (half the radius)
