Hoptimist - 100% 3D-printed
thingiverse
My amazing little Hoptimist, born from the creative minds of Fusion 360. Easy to build, just follow the simple steps. I printed the head with a generous 30% infill to minimize weight on the printed spring, making it more elastic. The base was printed with 100% infill, giving it extra weight so it wouldn't bounce around with the head. Now comes the challenging part: The spring required 100% infill. I developed numerous prototypes, but this one turned out to be the best, although you can adjust the bounciness to your liking: 1. Insert the spring.stl into your slicer 2. Go to scaling and start scaling only the Z axis, ensuring uniform scaling is off. 3. Set the Z axis to 30 or 40 mm (or more, depending on your preferred level of bounciness) 4. You can either print it upright very slowly or turn it 90 degrees on its side with supports added (which was my preference) Good luck and happy printing!
