Hoppy optimist (100% 3D-printed)
thingiverse
This is my adaptation of Strass1817's Hoptimist-inspired bumpy guy design. The whole design is 150% of the original one's size. I have marked it as 'work in progress' since I want to verify that I submitted the correct files by making the whole thing one more time myself, but besides that final check, it's already 100% usable! Be sure to check Strass1817's instructions as well.Head:The spring goes in a bit deeper, so the spring's height can be bigger while looking the same on the outside as the real Hoptimist that I haveNow has eye-holes (I couldn't get my eye attempts to fit in, then realised it also worked fine if I just kept them as 'holes')The nose is now its own file that can be inserted into the head after printing. Be sure to play around with different dimensions of the nose's "stalk" since it may require tweaking to actually fit rightSpring:Made it thinner, for better bounciness, since my material (normal PLA) turned out to be strong enough to do thatThe blender file isn't perfect, this is my first time using it, but it worked well enough. While technically not optimal for strength, I printed it sideways since it's good enough (on a raft, no supports)Bottom:After scaling 150%, I tweaked its feet a bit.Print this one with supports, either in normal orientation or upside down; check which is best for making its butt look the bestNose:Print upright, with supportAlso, my make on the picture has been covered with epoxy (≈ XTC3D) so it's shiny, but it looked at least as good without that stuff.
