Hopkinsville alien
thingiverse
One night in 1955, a rural Kentucky family witnessed a bizarre occurrence following a meteor sighting in the sky. They reported seeing strange glowing creatures terrorizing their farmhouse. Were these creatures just owls, monkeys, or perhaps a shared hallucination? The truth remains unknown... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelly%E2%80%93Hopkinsville_encounter http://www.cufos.org/books/Close_Encounter_at_Kelly.pdf (Owls were the answer. However, the "aliens" have become an integral part of folklore.) This design closely follows the original drawings based on witness testimony. The creatures were initially described as silvery, softly glowing beings with white eyes and a glowing yellow center, featuring dark depressions in each ear. Newspapers later exaggerated their description to green. For optimal results, rotate the figure onto its back and print it with soluble supports at a 30-degree overhang threshold. A raft is also recommended for stability. To ensure strength on the narrow limbs, keep the infill at least 30%. You can use silver-color filament and paint the eyes fluorescent yellow or use white filament and paint the body and head silvery, with glowing yellow centers. Update 2020-07-21: New partial STLs have been added to print the figure in different colors of filament. The main part STL represents the silvery portion of the figure. The eyes can be printed in place using the inplace STL or separately with the flatprint STL. They can even be dual extrusion printed with the whitepart and yellowglow STLs. A Blender file is also included for any cutting or editing you may wish to do. Due to the figure's top-heavy design, a stand has been created to allow the toroidal feet to slide into place, keeping the creature upright.
