Hoover Air - Latch Upper Handle/Wand Release
thingiverse
This latch that secures the wand to the body is astonishingly slender yet has managed to withstand such abuse for this long. In my view, it bears the brunt of the pull force at the handle. After approximately 3 years, it finally gave way under the strain, and I found it nearly impossible to locate a suitable replacement part online. The parts warehouse had informed me that it was back-ordered indefinitely with no foreseeable availability. To summarize, I needed another reason to refurbish the machine rather than purchasing an entirely new one just for this single missing component. The next steps were clear-cut: an hour on FreeCAD, followed by 2 hours of printing, and voilà! It now functions perfectly.
