Hooligan Flywheel Press and Puller
thingiverse
This is the Hooligan Flywheel Press and puller kit, a comprehensive package including all necessary components to build a press for efficiently pressing on various Nerf flywheels and removing them as well. The press boasts multiple forks designed to accommodate numerous styles of flywheel cages in the future, with the Open Flywheel Project cage fork currently available. When printing the parts, it's highly recommended to print them with threading without support material. This orientation ensures a smoother threading process. To facilitate threading parts together, adding lubricant to the threads in the screw component is beneficial. I personally employed an unused candle to grease the threads, finding this solution effective and mess-free. Initially, the first time threading may be tight, but as imperfections are smoothed out, the fit becomes significantly easier. The puller's arms should be printed with support material throughout, allowing them to be securely attached to the base using standard M3 Nerf screws. The press's anvil provides crucial support for most motors' end bells, preventing them from being pushed out during flywheel pressing. This feature grants a high degree of control when adding flywheels and safeguards against costly motor damage. Additional resources, including instructional videos, will be uploaded to demonstrate these tools and explain their applications. The Hooligan team is collaborating with other flywheel cage designers to make this tool as universally compatible as possible. These innovative tools can be obtained at cost from the Hooligan Etsy store page.
