I just created an under-shelf rack system for rolls of hookup wire in my home electronics workshop recently. However, using this type of setup has one major flaw - when you initially unwind the roll, the wire tends to automatically unravel and makes a huge mess. So, I developed and printed out a wire organizer/dispenser that stops the wire from unwinding while also allowing for easy access to it. The clamp fits perfectly on a standard 100' roll from Jameco Electronics and provides just enough resistance to prevent the wire from moving too quickly as it's dispensed. I designed this device with #24 stranded wire featuring PVC insulation in mind, so the dispensing slot is made specifically to accommodate it. Additionally, I've provided the STL file for the dowel holder, sized to fit a 1" wooden rod perfectly.
