Hook and Hanger System ==================== Update 16Jan2018 - A two piece hook design has been added that doesn't require support structures when printing. This system is a simple yet flexible combination of hooks and rod hangers for the kitchen or workshop. It's based on a 1 inch (or 25mm) wooden dowel rod, which can be purchased from a hardware store. Alternatively, you can use something else such as a 3/4" PVC pipe. If you print the parts using Hatchbox wood filled PLA filament, you can stain everything to match your woodwork. Four different styles of hangers are included: Small, large, with and without a slotted opening. The version with the slotted opening allows for easy addition or removal of hooks after installation. There are also four different styles of hooks: Large, small, parallel and perpendicular to the dowel rod. These hooks are captured on the dowel rod so they can't fall off, but you can still slide them around as needed. You can easily design your own hooks; if you do, please share them here! You can also use these parts without the hooks to make things like towel racks. PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS: -------------------------------------- Rod hangers can be printed without support. The STL files are oriented in the proper direction for this. Some of the hooks will require added support (also see the two piece version that doesn't require support). For strength, the large side of the hook should be parallel to the build plate. The STL files have been oriented accordingly. Layer thickness can be whatever you like; I used 0.2mm in my parts. The percentage of infill you use depends on the strength needed; I used 30%.
