Hook for Spool Wall Mount (Customizable)
cults3d
Hi! This "hooks" makes replacing a spool on a wall mount a breeze. I discovered these "hooks" on the YouTube Channel 3d Printing Professor, but I couldn't find them for printing, so I created my own OpenSCAD customizable version. They are incredibly useful. Replacing a spool with the wall mount can be a real challenge and many times it's downright hazardous. I've included two files that I'm using - one has a 28 mm pipe for the bar of the wall mount and the other has a 30 mm tube for the spool, both designed for 1 kg and 750g spools. The customizer is a piece of cake to use: there's a picture with the parameters used. Just be sure to pay attention to the diameter of the rod on the wall mount and give yourself a 1 or 2 mm tolerance - it doesn't have to fit perfectly. There's a "pin" on the spool side that lets you connect multiple hooks together for added strength to your entire set of spools. It's not strictly necessary, but I decided to include it as an optional feature. I hope you find this useful! For me, it's one of the most practical things I've ever printed. Have fun printing!
