Hook for IKEA Tupplur window shade
thingiverse
I designed these hooks as a replacement for the original attachment point on IKEA's Tupplur, intended specifically for outdoor use. However, when strong winds blow, the standard attachment often fails to secure them properly, causing the Tupplurs to become airborne. To address this issue, I created these hooks with a focus on keeping the Tupplurs firmly grounded. To ensure durability in various weather conditions, they are printed using PETG material for its excellent UV resistance properties. The necessary components include rubber bands, which can be sourced from any household supply. A 4mm diameter band should suffice for this purpose. First, insert the rubber bands into the hook's loop, then proceed to press the lid firmly onto them to secure them in place. This process eliminates the need for adhesive materials. While disassembling these hooks may prove a bit challenging, it is still possible to do so without resorting to any glue or other adhesives. However, be cautious not to damage the hook's structure during this process, as PETG material has shown remarkable durability in our tests.
