Hook for divider elastic strap in Zero Halliburton Luggage
thingiverse
I bought a large Zero Halliburton suitcase 40 years ago when I was, let's say, a professional traveler. I still use it. It's been around the world 3 times and has survived the worst the world's luggage handlers could throw at it. However, the aluminum clasps on the elastic bands that hold the interior dividers in place broke. I suspect my stereo slammed against them when they were jettisoned from a baggage compartment somewhere. It was sort of inconvenient to manage the dividers without the hooks. And, the elastic was about shot too, stretched out permanently. I designed this hook to replace the aluminum ones. Just cut the stitching, if needed, and feed the elastic through the slots, hook onto the tabs at the front of the suitcase and pull tight. It works great. Print it on the side, so the whole thing gets laid down in long strips from the back to the front, around the hook and use support where touching build plate. I printed it solid in ABS. OpenSCAD Source code is included.
