The hook and its counterpart (pothole inlet) were originally designed for reusing (upcycling) a mirror door of an old wardrobe. It was a pitty to throw this away.

The wall hook has an oval shape. If you are using two hooks - as in my case - you can adjust (level) about one or two mm of in-accuracy by turning the hook 180 degree. You cannot turn it when drilled too tighly though. You should measure in advance.

These doors have pothole hinges. when you remove the hinges you are left with a hole 35 mm in diameter and about 12 mm in depth. You can apply the pothole-inlets - these fit very well into the hooks. When needed you can additionally screw the inlets - but they are very strong already.

The hook can be used for other things as well. It has a groove all around. So you can attach anything on a string or small chain or normal picture frame like the IKEA frame on the picture.
