The latch base uses the same space claim as the original and could be made from carbon fiber or Aluminum. If you like the carbon fiber look and want to make it out of a lighter material such like plastic look into Hydro-Dipping for a carbon fiber looking finish. For the latch lever, it is a simple machined aluminum part. I've always liked red anodizing for latch handles and levers, but could just as easily be chrome, black chromed, or hydro dipped. Instead of using the bracket and mechanical fasteners to mount this into the vehicle, look into using 3M VHB tape on the back of the flange base. VHB tape is used all the time for automotive applications and is just as strong as fasteners and can be die cut to the shape of that flange. It looks cleaner and is cheaper than using fasteners and eliminates some parts.
