This group, a groundbreaking marble sculpture by Danti, was commissioned by Cosimo de Medici's trusted advisor from Perugia, Sforza Almeni, who had introduced the artist to the Florentine elite and met an untimely death five years later at the hand of the Duke in a fit of uncontrolled rage. The striking subject likely alludes to a pivotal moment in Almeni's life story. In contrast to Michelangelo's Genius of Victory, which inspired Danti to create this masterpiece, the composition boasts a more compact and intense rhythm. This object is part of "Scan The World," a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory, through which we are building a digital library of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe for everyone's access.
