The Middelheim Museum stands as a distinctive gem in Antwerp's vibrant art scene. Its sprawling outdoor setting provides an captivating glimpse into over a century of artistic evolution. Majestic trees, broad pathways, and inviting green clearings create a picturesque backdrop. Every year, the museum invites contemporary artists to engage in an artistic dialogue with its permanent collection and park surroundings, resulting in high-profile performances and striking exhibitions by prominent as well as emerging artists. These new works are frequently incorporated into the permanent collection. Notable contributors Roman Signer and Ai Weiwei have recently created exclusive pieces specifically for the museum.
