My brother's friend harvests spare wax from their beehives but purchases the hexagon-patterned wax foundation themselves. This experimental roller set differs significantly from commercial ones, which employ a wider diameter drum pair. My initial print of a roller took an astonishing 24 hours, due in part to my Rostock delta printer's vertical reach of around 300mm. We discovered that the PLA I used left the wax too sticky, prompting me to recommend nylon as a better option - albeit one with high shrinkage. Ideally, a laser powder printer would yield more precise results for this print. If anyone achieves success with this project, please share your experience and I'll revise the instructions accordingly. Additionally, we encountered some minor flexibility issues that affected the drawing accuracy of the top end cog; a thicker brim could have mitigated this problem.
