A uniquely designed honeycomb pattern bowl can be created using Google Sketchup by merging a hexagonal pattern with two half spheres. The STL file is available for download, and the item can be scaled independently on all axes to create different shaped bowls. When printing, it requires support for the first half of layers, but overhangs are only on the outside for easy removal. Printed with a Solidoodle 2 at 80% scale, this bowl has a diameter of 14.5cm and a height of 5cm, and the STL file is error-free after passing through Netfabb. Skeinforge generates more useful support structures than slic3r for this model.
