Oxalic acid is used by beekeepers to treat varroa mite infestations in bee hives. A measured amount of oxalic acid is placed in the vaporizer and cap replaced. A culinary butane torch is inserted in the large opening of the vaporizer and the oxalic acid is heated to produce vapor. When the oxalic acid reaches the proper temperature and is vaporized, the tip of torch is inserted in the entrance of the bee hive or a pre-cut hole in the back of the brood box.Vaporizer is fabricated from standard copper fittings and tubing. Silver solder is used to sweat the fittings. Filler cap is not soldered.
