Honda XR-50 Fork Bushing
thingiverse
This is a replacement fork bushing designed specifically for the Honda XR50, but it's likely to fit other models as well, such as the Z50 or CT70. Although there's no substitute for brand new parts, printing out your own can be a good alternative if you don't have them on hand. I made these bushings from ABS plastic, and despite initial concerns about how they would react with grease, we've been using this machine for several months without any issues. I expected the bushings to start de-laminating due to exposure to grease, but so far, everything looks good. Briefly slide the greased tube into the bushing while in the leg. If it's too tight, you'll need to either hand-ream using a 7/8" drill or shave off a little with a coarse file. It's essential to check for fitment often so that you don't make the bushing too loose. Special sizing requirements may necessitate a mild "hand reaming" using a 7/8" drill bit. Be cautious not to remove too much material. Check for fitment after a few turns by briefly sliding the tube into the bushing while in the leg. If necessary, perform hand reaming using a 7/8" drill bit. Cleaning Up It may be necessary to lightly clean up the outside diameter of one or both bushings with a coarse bastard file. This makes for a precise fit and ensures everything works smoothly. When reassembling, make sure to add plenty of grease. Cleaning up the OD with a coarse file is a simple step that can help prevent any issues down the line.
