Honda Rear Shock Preload Adjustment Wrench
prusaprinters
I've been wanting to adjust my VTX1800's rear shocks for a while and had the bags off this weekend. Instead of waiting for a $20 wrench to ship from amazon I made one. I measured the shock diameter at roughly 68mm +- 15mm. It doesn't seem too critical. Then I checked a 5mm bolt I happened to have to see if it would fit the pin holes. Attached are photos of the finished product and the shock I was adjusting. It worked like a charm. Don't forget to unload the weight from the rear tire. I just pushed on the sissybar a bit lifting it on the kickstand and the shock slipped right up to the next preload setting.
