Honda Pedal Stop Pad
pinshape
This is a replacement for Honda part 46505-SA5-000 (aftermarket part Dorman 74015), which frequently malfunctions on older vehicles. This component is what the brake switch depresses when the pedal is released, so if your brake lights aren't shutting off it's likely that this piece has failed and needs to be replaced. I believe this part will also function on the clutch side as well, but I haven't personally confirmed. A reliable way to determine if you need this part replaced is to inspect the floor of your vehicle for broken plastic fragments of the original part...that's how I recognized mine had failed. Note: I printed and used this on a 1985 Honda Accord, but online research suggests that numerous models and years of Honda utilize this exact same component. A straightforward method to install this is to fully press the pedal to the floor, align the part with the installation hole, and then slowly release the pedal. The pressure from the pedal should be enough to snap the piece into place. I had to increase infill up to 30% for this part to function properly, as the initial version broke when the brake pedal was released against it.
