Honda Key (FOB combo) Replacement with LA Angels logo
thingiverse
I created this custom key to replace the broken hollow key/fob combo on my 2006 Honda Pilot. The original key had fallen apart, and I didn't want to spend around $100 for a replacement, so I decided to design something new. I extracted the chip from the old key and printed out the design with it inside, gluing everything together in the pockets I designed. The FOB is separate and also glued into place. Someone might want to re-design the key part to remove the pattern so it can be printed without any supports, but I didn't mind digging them out to get the look I wanted. The FOB would have been more challenging, though. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the original key. My print settings were: Rafts: Doesn't matter Supports: Yes Resolution: .15 Infill: 100% I used ABS plastic with 100% fill for the print. To assemble the new key, you need to unscrew the small screw at the back, then carefully remove the chip from its housing on one side. It's pretty clear where it is once you take off the cap and gently dig out the chip from the glue. I did this with two keys without damaging the chip, but be cautious anyway.
