I had a replacement key blank cut for my Honda after one of them stopped working, which made it difficult to turn the ignition. Cutting a chipped key was far more expensive than what I paid to get the new one programmed. To remove the chip from the original key, you need to carefully slice through the plastic casing and extract the rubber mount that holds the chip in place. Next, you insert the chip into the newly cut key and assemble it with the new case. I used glue to bond the two halves together. The 3D print was done at a layer height of .2mm using PLA material.
