This is an easy DIY fix for a frequent Honda Civic issue. You can search YouTube or Google for more information on the problem and its solution. I opted not to spend $20 on a part, so I measured out the cable clamp and created this piece instead. One of these connectors uses screws, which was convenient since it allowed me to test it quickly without investing too much time into designing a clip or snap joint. However, this one is quite bulky, making it difficult for the trim piece to fit over it. As a result, I couldn't close everything back up properly. This has left me questioning whether spending $20 on the original part would have been worth it, given that my homemade solution is roughly the same size. The other connector is thinner and more suitable for use with zip-ties or wire. I ended up using both of them. Although I was initially excited to share my project, I eventually ran out of motivation and didn't post any photos. Nonetheless, I did manage to install the second one successfully, and it works perfectly fine. Keep in mind that this is a 16-year-old car, so I wasn't too concerned with making everything perfect.
