Honda Civic (2008) Nexus 6 phone support for GPS mount
thingiverse
The piece is a "in-place" phone mount for my Nexus 6p using a Spigen case, which fits perfectly into the dashboard of my Honda Civic 2008 FK2, taking advantage of the existing GPS system's mounting point and 5v 1A power supply. This project marks my first attempt at creating a complex 3D model, utilizing SketchUp Make 2017 with some initial struggles due to unfamiliarity with the software, but mostly minor issues that I will resolve in future versions. The .stl file was exported directly from the .skp one without any further modifications. This is an ongoing project where the basic shape is now established, leaving room for improvement: I need to develop a mechanism for pressing the release button and provide support for the contact plate to access the power from the base plate.
