Component colors can be mixed and matched at will. A project aimed to discover how well distinct parts interact when designed and printed with no room for error was undertaken. One such piece was built to test this concept, and following minor sanding and filing to eliminate print defects, it assembled securely together without the need for adhesives. From this experiment, I was able to conclude that in order to print a similar object for assembly with minimal post-processing requirements, a very slight clearance would be necessary, but may compromise the ability of the components to hold together so closely without the use of adhesives.
