Honda CB cut frame end cap
thingiverse
I crafted this solution specifically for my 1972 CB500K frame, designed to snugly fit the open end of the structure without causing any obstructions. To achieve a perfect seal, apply RTV silicone sealant or use magnetic fixtures to secure it in place. I intentionally oversize the "front" part to cover not just the edges but also a bit extra, ensuring complete coverage. Meanwhile, the raised portion neatly fits inside the cut frame. I printed the parts in transparent ABS material to serve as functional lenses for enhanced visibility. Consider installing red LEDs within the frame tube connected to your brake light system, creating additional braking indicators or even blinkers and running lights – endless possibilities! **Step-by-Step Instructions** To begin with, place a sheet of paper over the cut section of your motorcycle's frame. Next, take a soft crayon and gently rub it across the paper to capture its outline. Use a digital caliper to carefully measure this template. Using Google Sketchup Make, I replicated this design with precise dimensions, then exported the model as an STL file for 3D printing. I then transferred the data to my DaVinci printer, a modified version which runs custom software – a small investment that has paid off greatly. The end result? A seamless printout ready for immediate use.
