HOn30 Combination Passenger Caboose and Boxcar Railroad Car

cults3d

This is a HOn30 Scale model railroad combination passenger car, caboose, and boxcar. It is modeled after the car used by the Dismal Swamp Railroad of the Richmond Cedar Works in Norfolk County, VA, a railroad that ran from the 1890s until 1941. It is designed to work with Micro-Trains archbar trucks and couplers. No shims are required for proper height. Proper weighting is accomplished via the addition of weights inside the car (not included). This model is split into parts to constitute a kit requiring assembly, but also allowing for optimal detail by aligning with the build plate. The windows and doors function and require some minor filing/fitting for the best fit. This model prints well using a 0.25 mm in PLA, but will likely do well in resin, too. PLA parts can be joined with Plastruct Plastic Weld or Cyanoacrylate glue (e.g. "Super Glue" or "Krazy Glue"). The roof is best left as a press fit for future removal and to provide access to the car's interior.
