Homo erectus \nLocation: Sangiran, Java, Indonesia \nAge: Over a million years ago. \nMaterial: A precise epoxy resin cast. \nDimensions: Length is 107 mm; width measures 128 mm; height stands at 59 mm.\nNotes: RLA catalog no. 2501.1rp33-1 (cast). This one of two articulating calvaria fragments from the individual known as Sangiran 4, discovered in 1939 by R. von Koenigswald and F. Weidenreich. Formerly named Pithecanthropus Skull IV. The cast was made by the Wenner-Gren Foundation Casting Program at the University Museum of the University of Pennsylvania.
