Homo erectus fossil cast in epoxy resin, discovered in Olduvai Gorge, Tanzania, 1.2 million years ago. Measuring 206 mm long, 145 mm wide, and 111 mm tall, this significant find is part of the RLA catalog no. 2501.1rp30 (cast). Louis Leakey uncovered the fossil in 1960. The partial cranial vault provides valuable insights into human evolution. Cast by the Wenner-Gren Foundation Casting Program at the University Museum of the University of Pennsylvania, this model is part of the teaching collection of the Research Laboratories of Archaeology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A replica created by Jordyn Gray serves as a model for educational purposes.
