I upgraded my Homematic sensor to ask for the status of my Hörmann garage door motor when it's closed. I replaced the circuit board with a new housing and installed two AAA batteries to extend battery life. Additionally, I connected a 24V relay in parallel with its closing contact to the reed switch. The two blue cables from the relay's 24V coil are routed out of the housing and directly connected to the Hörmann motor. Please refer to the motor's user manual for further instructions. When the garage door reaches the lower position, 24V is transmitted from the motor to the relay, which activates it and sends a signal back to HomeMatic through the sensor. The sabotage contact remains intact. I built a small lever on top of the housing that presses the switch when the door is in its lowest position. To use this setup, ensure that your garage door motor also releases 24V when it reaches the bottom position. Check your user manual for specific instructions. For Hörmann's ProMatic motors, this is guaranteed to work.
