My interpretation of archived knowledge for detecting the sun with a specialized device is based on the Homematic differential temperature sensor HM-WDS30-OT2-SM. This device has two independent temperature sensors, one located at the bottom of the cup facing downwards and another at the top of the sensor in the glass. The detection of the sun is accomplished through the differential temperature between these two sensors. The bottom sensor measures the ambient temperature while the second sensor in the glass, positioned within a black painted brass tube, measures the direct influence of sunlight amplified by its location. To determine if the sun is shining and adjust your blinds accordingly, you can use this data. If you're interested in learning more about this setup, I recommend using my blog as a reference and looking at all the photos of the sensor, which are linked below in German: https://maximilian-roth.de/?p=2427
