To ensure a sturdy porch, I'm constructing it with robust telephone posts as support pillars. Previously, regular posts succumbed to rot, so I devised an innovative setup method. By leaning one end of the contraption on my house's roof, I securely lift and position each post using a come along device, thus preventing future decay issues.
