I decided to take a shot at building cubify invent from scratch. This build requires the use of 1/2 inch square dowels from home depot and a 28 sized motor, preferably one that's widely available on online marketplaces like hobbyking.com - specifically, their 28-26 model would work well here. As I become more familiar with this software, I'm thinking about converting this design into an "H" style quad configuration. Initially, I used the http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:163794 rotorbones knuckle quad plates to give my H-quad a solid foundation. Given that blizzard season is coming soon, the first flight will have to wait until it passes. Update: After reviewing my design again, I created an improved v2 version of the mount which streamlines the process of installing motor screws. The update includes additional tweaks to ensure everything fits snugly in place. Instructions: When printing this build with a .2 mm height and 30% infill using PLA material, make sure to follow these steps: Attach your motor to the mount first before sliding it onto the 1/2 inch dowel; tie the whole thing together securely using ties that should bite into the surrounding wood ever so slightly.
