Homemade Ellipsometer

Homemade Ellipsometer

thingiverse

This ongoing project aims to cheaply create a purely mechanical single wavelength ellipsometer using 3D printed parts and hardware store items. Additional wavelengths and angles of incidence could be added by incorporating laser modules of different wavelengths. The Bill of Materials (BOM) includes various printed and non-printed components, along with tools and craft implements. The setup procedure and calibration process are crucial for accurate results. References to guides on ellipsometry and measurement instrumentation are provided for further information. Updates have included revisions to the mechanical design and a polarizer calibration procedure. The project is still in progress, with initial test data showing potential sources of error requiring improvement.
