Home DIY - Magnetic Remote Holder
thingiverse
I had a remote controller for some LED strips that I used in the backyard, which was always hard to find when I needed it. No matter what, it seemed like that's just how things go. To solve the problem of easy access and storage, I came up with an idea: a magnetic support to attach the remote to my fridge. This way, it would be simple to locate and stash away whenever I wanted. Using three 10x3 mm round magnets - a bit larger than necessary, but they work just fine - I embedded them right into the support during the printing process. When the print was done, the magnets were invisible from the outside. I noticed that there are similar supports available on Thingiverse, but their magnetic strips are simply glued to the back of the design. That's not how my solution works... it's a bit different.
