Home Automation Lookout (HAL9000) hub case
thingiverse
Custom made home automation display consisting of two Neopixel rings, where the inner one with 12 LEDs displays time and the outer one shows various information such as weather, temperature, humidity, window open/close state (and close/open duration), power socket state etc. A touchable TFT display showcases the floorplan and other information, while a speaker in the back outputs digital sounds/samples. An RFM module facilitates communication with custom hardware around the house, assisted by a PIR sensor that tracks movements, prompting me to name it HAL9000. The housing was my most complex work within OpenSCAD, particularly creating the rounded back took ages. I named this creation HAL9000, consisting of: - Feather M0 with RFM69 module - Feather TFT 2"4 320x240 touchscreen (with SD card slot) - 24 RGB LED Neopixel ring - 12 RGB LED Neopixel ring - Custom PCB (mostly signal routing) - Adafruit Mono 2.5W Amp - PAM8302 - A PIR sensor taken from a JeeNode RoomNode - A BMP085 pressure sensor - A speaker, estimated to be 2W PS: There's a visible gap in one photo due to breaking off one screw holder.
