With the arrival of the Stockton & Darlington Railway in 1825, the population of Darlington quickly grew and Holy Trinity was constructed as a chapel of ease to serve the Church of St. Cuthbert. The building itself was designed by Anthony Salvin, and on October 4th, 1836, the foundation stone was laid in place. This collection showcases intricate churchyard memorials that tell a story of remembrance and devotion.
