*Update 21Dec21 - Wedge_for_Holster_v2 - simpler shape and is easier to print and wider surface area, so it doesn't feel like you're getting stabbed, lol

Inspired by the "Tier 1 Concealed Holster Wedge". I began to use Tinkercad and roughly design a shape free-hand similar to the Tier 1 Wedge and print it out and find ways to mount it with the tools and materials on hand.

It prints well with PLA+, roughly 40% infill 15% support, more or less to fit your needs.

Tested on and works well on an AIWB Kydex Holster fitted for a Glock 19. It also works on my cheap leather holster.

Note: Recommended Materials: Sticky Velcro Strips.

The velcro here plays a big part and works wonders and allows for easy customizability and placement of the wedge. The fur side goes on the holster, the hard pointy plastic of the velcro sticks to the wedge--this is to ensure the fur on the holster doesn't snag on your clothes or scratch your skin.

If you don't know what size wedge you need, first print one out. Get some temporary two-sided tape or better yet, velcro, attach the fur side of the specific cut velcro to the holster, I recommend cutting and mounting one side of the velcro to a fairly large portion of the holster that will sit against your body, so you can easily remove and re-attach the wedge to a different part of the holster. Attach the hard pointy plastic portion of the velcro to the freshly printed holster wedge and attach to the desired area on the holster and fit it to your body to get a feel of what size(s) you need.

Resize dimensions and print again if needed!

Feel free to print multiple ones and different sizes by changing the size of the model to custom fit your body, also, don't be afraid to stick the wedges at different angles on your holster, it doesn't have to be attached straight.

Enjoy! and I hope this tool allows you to conceal your firearm and that your firearm may fit better on your person.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Monoprice

Printer:

Maker Ultimate

Rafts:

Doesn't Matter

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

.2

Infill:

40%

Filament: ESUN PLA+ / PLA PRO Orange

Notes:

I printed a little slower than what I normally print and with the fan at 100% because of the odd shape and to minimize warping.

Category: DIY
