The Emissary is a groundbreaking Augmented Reality game that was conceived during Portland's coveted "Portland Indie Game Squads" Summer Slow Jam 2018. This innovative AR/VR Game Jam brought together some of the most talented individuals in the industry to push the boundaries of immersive gaming. Under the theme "change of perspective," Joshua Farmer took on the role of 3D environment, character artist, textures, and animations specialist, bringing his human touch to the project. Chris Shixuan served as concept designer, programmer, and animator, weaving a rich tapestry of visual effects. Jackon Lango handled programming duties with precision and flair. Meanwhile, Kurt M. Landre brought the game to life with an enchanting soundtrack and sound design, ensuring that every moment was an unforgettable experience for players. Working in tandem, the team leveraged Maya LT for 3D modeling and animation, Unity as their game engine, and Visual Studio for programming. The result is a truly unique AR/VR experience that redefines the art of gaming.
