Holo Projector - LED light holder

I constructed an R4-type dome for mounting on R5's body. Over the years, I've heard numerous stories about kids tampering with Holo projectors, causing damage to the wires connecting the LEDs. To address this issue, I designed a more sophisticated system. The single large LED is secured in place within the cup of the holder. A scooter bearing fits inside the expandable collar and then pushes over the stem of the LED holder, allowing its contacts to feed the wires through the inside. This creates a "slip ring" effect. The bearing holder is then pushed into the rear of the Holo projector eye. My design was a test and work-in-progress; some sanding and filing were necessary to achieve a tight fit between the 3D-printed Holo projector (not included here) and the shaft of the holder, as well as the outer diameter of the bearing holder fins. The holder fits snugly into the Holo, with the inner diameter free to rotate on the LED holder, preventing twisting of the LED wires. For more information, visit my Blog or www.astromech.net.
