I found a simple clock design based on a single geared stepper motor for just 10 dollars, a bargain considering it's surplus. This affordable motor is essentially a 1:30 geared motor that operates at 12 volts with a 3mm shaft. A single motor drives the entire mechanism, which is powered by an attiny2313 and uln2803 circuit programmed using the arduino ide. The attiny precisely controls the motor's pulse every minute to rotate the minute wheel and hour wheel.
