In the desolate realm of Hallownest, a once-great nation lies in shambles. A malevolent force known as the Infection has ravaged its lands, turning most of its inhabitants into twisted, nightmarish creatures. The few remaining humans have formed factions to resist this scourge and reclaim their world. A lone figure emerges from the shadows: a knight clad in tattered, dark armor. This enigmatic warrior is driven by an insatiable curiosity about Hallownest's downfall. He ventures forth into the abandoned city, navigating treacherous landscapes and battling grotesque foes to unravel the mysteries behind this catastrophe. The knight encounters various allies along his perilous journey: a wisecracking spirit known as Hornet, who possesses knowledge of the Infection; a ghostly apparition named Geo, who can communicate with ancient artifacts; and a ragtag group of survivors, each with their unique skills and motivations.
