I'll be using these scanned models to create the next round of prosthetics for her, and you can help me make the prototypes faster by contributing at http://www.gofundme.com/prosthetic-hand. To better understand this process, Hollie had a plaster cast made of both her hands. However, the original white casts weren't ideal for scanning, so I added a layer of light grey paint to improve contrast and visibility. A very watered down black paint was then applied to highlight the intricate details in each groove. Using 50+ images of these painted casts, I used Agisoft photoscan to generate accurate 3D models. The meshing and texturing process can be seen in this video using Agisoft Photoscan's software features. Blender Cycles took over for rendering these prosthetic hands' visual effects. Your help is needed to make this possible, so contribute at http://www.gofundme.com/prosthetic-hand, and also watch the detailed step-by-step process at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AprAsmzGkok.
