Because there needs to be extra room for mistakes when 3D printing, and these margins can change from one printer to another. I create this chart to figure out what size holes I will actually need in my models if I want a hole big enough for a screw to fit through, for example. It's arranged in a grid. The X-axis shows increases of 0.1mm, while the Y-axis shows increases of 1mm.
